STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Hospital’s Kari Pollack was named Employee of the Year for 2011 at its “Celebration of Achievement” on Wednesday night. She is in charge of events for the foundation at Stamford Hospital.

The Stamford resident was named Employee of the Month this past May and was one of about 450 hospital employees honored Wednesday night at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. In addition to the other Employee of the Month winners, honorees included Nightingale Nursing Award winners, hospital physicians and the Planetree Caregiver Award winner, a Stamford Hospital statement said.

“Throughout the year, Kari visibly lives our values of teamwork, integrity, compassion, respect and accountability and commitment to patient care,” Darryl McCormick, Senior Vice President, Talent and Culture, said in the release. “She embodies the characteristics that make her well-respected by her peers, including great people skills, tireless energy and the ability to work well under pressure.”

The Stamford Hospital Foundation provides philanthropic resources for the hospital, its website said.
