STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford’s Michael J. Cacace was named “Real Estate Law Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers.

“It’s really a special honor to be recognized for the work I love to do,” Cacace said of the distinction. He is a founding partner of Cacace, Tusch, and Santagata Attorneys at Law in Stamford.

Best Lawyers creates its lists by conducting surveys of lawyers about their peers, a press release said. The 2012 release of The Best Lawyers in America is the 18th edition.

“We continue to believe — as we have believed for more than 25 years — that recognition by ones peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession,” Steven Naifeh, president of Best Lawyers, said in the release.
