What is Star Teacher?

Students and parents nominate their favorite local teachers to win the MSC Star Teacher award. Once a teacher is nominated, other readers can vote or comment on that teacher’s profile page. Each school has its own page which will show all nominated teachers from that school. (A school’s page does not appear until someone nominates one of its teachers). Vote totals will determine the top 10 teachers. Only one teacher from each town may win. The top three teachers overall will win $5,000 for their school's parent-teacher organization and a $100 gift card to Staples. The other teachers from each town will win $1,000 for their school's parent-teacher organization and a $100 gift card to Staples. Only teachers registering 25 or more votes will qualify for the prizes.
