Stamford Girls Honored for Their Letters

Stamford fourth-grader Sophia Scorziello was one of only two Stamford students to be named finalists in the 2011 Letters About Literature Contest. The other Stamford finalist was fifth-grader Tajae Medley. Both attend Davenport Ridge School.

Sophia, Tajae and the other Connecticut finalists were honored Sunday at the University of Connecticut Greater Hartford campus. In addition to receiving the award, the finalists got to meet author Catherine Gourley, who was the guest speaker.
