Despite the rumors, teen idol and music sensation Justin Bieber did not show up at a special screening of "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" at the Bow-Tie Cinema in Wilton. However, many "Beliebers" in Fairfield County, including Nicole Wisniewski of Norwalk, showed up Thursday night hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer.

"You know, 'Never Say Never,'" Nicole, 16, said as she and her friend Greta wore their "Never Say Never" T-shirts and "Biebs" headbands they made in honor of the movie's release this weekend.

Nicole and Greta were two of about 50 girls who filled the theater's lobby Thursday evening for the screening. Anticipation built for the star's arrival, with girls singing and chanting for him. But at about 8 p.m., the screening ended and there was no Justin.

Justin that he would be on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday night and was rehearsing with Usher for the Grammy Awards. Still, "Bieber Fever" took control, and the fans stuck it out.

Thursday's special private screening took place after five Westport girls — Emme Boland, 14; Olivia Lev, 13; Colby Kranz, 13; Alexa Davis, 13; and Kendall Rochlin, 13 — won a contest in which they produced and submitted 15 videos. Despite joining the contest late, their webpage was the most popular.

"We were bored on a Friday night, and I said, 'Let's do it,'" Alexa said of how the five lifelong friends came to enter the contest.

In addition to friends and family members, the five girls invited members of the Boys & Girls Club of Bridgeport to the private screening. The contest winners volunteer there every Wednesday. The screening took place in Wilton because Westport does not have a movie theater.
