The location has been changed for Gov. Dannel Malloy’s Town Hall Meeting-style discussion in Stamford on March 22 about his proposed budget. The meeting now will take place at UConn-Stamford, Gen Re Auditorium, 1 University Place. The time remains the same, 7 to 8 p.m.

The discussion is one of 17 constituent meetings Malloy is holding throughout the state to relay Connecticut’s economic condition and present his budget proposals directly to residents. His proposals include an increase in the sales tax, new taxes instituted on previously nontaxed services and a significant numerical reduction in state agencies, among other revenue-generating and cost-saving measures.

The March 22 meeting previously had been scheduled to take place in the Government Center cafeteria. The location was changed to a larger space to accommodate the number of residents expected to attend. Malloy, a Democrat, is a Stamford native and former mayor.
